The new capabilities introduced by the digital drafting have triggered a substantial evolution of the relationship between representation and design. The diffusion of digital technologies in Architecture has opened new frontiers in the design field, stimulating the development of a new expressive language that promotes generating complex shapes. On the other hand, the shape often becomes the main interest of the designers. Then, is the project only a formal question? Architecture and health are closely dependent. Architecture more positively influences human health as appropriating to its needs. However, humanization of hospital spaces wasn’t always evident. La procedura del concorso d’idee è indicata come soluzione per contribuire all’innalzamento della qualità architettonica. In Italia le esperienze durante l’ultimo decennio sono state numerose, ma non sempre hanno sortito positivi esiti concreti. Se le procedure di richiamo internazionale si riferiscono a linee guida consolidate, per la maggior parte delle occasioni di rilievo locale il livello di attenzione è insufficiente a garantire una diffusa qualità dei risultati.
